The standard we build to

Coach Igniter targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at Level AA. That is the level referenced by most public procurement and by the ADA guidance the US Department of Justice has published, and it is the bar we hold new work to before it ships.

This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means most of it meets the standard and some of it does not yet. We are actively remediating, and the section below names the gaps we already know about rather than leaving you to find them.

What already works

Every page opens with a skip link that jumps past the header straight to the main content, and moves the keyboard there rather than only scrolling to it.

The whole site is operable from a keyboard alone. The menu opens and closes on Enter, Escape closes it and returns you to the button you opened it with, and the mobile sheet keeps focus inside itself while it is open. Anything you can reach with a keyboard shows a visible focus ring.

Motion respects your system settings. If your device asks for reduced motion, the hero video is never downloaded at all, the still image behind it stops drifting, page and section entrances stop animating, and the press wall stops scrolling. The press wall also carries its own pause button for anyone who wants it stopped without changing a system setting.

Form fields have real labels, not placeholder text standing in for one. Errors are attached to the field they belong to, so a screen reader announces the problem along with the input rather than as an unrelated line of text somewhere on the page.

Translucent surfaces — the header, the menu, the dialogs — fall back to solid colour when your system asks for reduced transparency or increased contrast, so text over them never depends on what is scrolling underneath.

Where we fall short

Three parts of this site are rendered by other companies inside a frame, and their accessibility is theirs rather than ours: the payment form at checkout is Stripe's, the booking calendar is Cal.com's, and the lesson video player is Cloudflare Stream's. We chose each of them partly on this basis and we raise problems with them, but we cannot fix their markup. If one of them blocks you, tell us anyway — we can usually complete the same task for you directly.

Course videos do not yet carry captions or transcripts. This is the gap we consider most serious, because the videos are the product, and it is the one we are working on first.

The legal pages are set as long, dense prose. They meet the contrast and structure requirements, but they are not easy reading, and a plain-language summary of each is not written yet.

This site has been reviewed against the guidelines and checked by keyboard, and its colours have been measured rather than eyeballed. It has not been through an independent third-party audit, and it has not been tested against every assistive technology in use. There will be failures here we have not found.

Telling us something is broken

If any part of this site keeps you from doing what you came to do, we want to hear about it — including the parts above that we already know about, because knowing something is broken is not the same as knowing how badly it lands.

It helps if you can say which page it was, what you were trying to do, and what you use to browse — a screen reader and its version, keyboard only, magnification, whatever applies — but a one-line message saying "this page does not work for me" is a perfectly good report and we would rather have it than nothing.

A person reads every one of these, and we aim to reply within two business days. If the fix is going to take longer than that, our reply will say what we are doing and roughly when. Where we cannot fix something quickly, we will offer another way to get the same thing done — including doing it for you over the phone.
